Pippa Le Cesne Byrne
Clinical Psychology Trainee, Middletown Location (She/Her)
I’m Pippa, a Doctoral Student in Clinical Psychology practicing under Dr. Alana Coscia’s supervision. My focus is working with LGBTQIA+ adolescents and young adults.
Do you feel as though you’re holding back what you really want to say, hiding pieces of yourself? Or maybe you’re not really sure who you are these days. Perhaps oppressive current events are adding an immense amount of stress to your plate, making you feel hopeless, angry, and/or defeated. These might be experiences that have led you to therapy, or perhaps something else entirely! Either way, I believe in the importance of being true to yourself, even when it’s difficult or confusing. This is why our appointments will be collaborative, with you as the expert of your own unique experiences and identities.
I pull from psychodynamic and emotion-focused lenses. Additionally, I believe that a big part of therapy is feeling safe enough to be uncomfortable at times. My goal is to create a space safe enough for you to explore and grow in, which can at times be challenging. I believe in getting to know clients through an intersectional approach — you hold many identities, all of which should be acknowledged. I am committed to providing affirming care for the LGBTQIA+ community and applying a social justice lens to my work. Reach out to our office if you think we may be a good fit!
