Diandrea Brown LMSW
Middletown, CT & Telehealth
I am Diandrea, a Licensed Master’s Social Worker with a passion for creating a safe place where people feel comfortable and listened to. I have interest in working with adolescents, teens, and young adults who are often misunderstood. I have experience working in schools and in a clinical setting where I support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, major life transitions, and self-esteem.
I understand that growing up is not easy. There’s pressure to fit in, identity crisis starts to begin, puberty, and feeling unsure of yourself and what's to come in the future. During this time, people tend to shut down and isolate and find themselves in negative headspace. Having a support system is needed for times like this and I am devoted to being that support for those who do not have it. I have a very supportive and empathetic approach where clients can feel comfortable to talk about anything on their mind and enjoy coming into therapy.
My goal is to help clients learn to find joy in the present moment, have a better and more positive outlook on their life, and learn to build positive habits. This is done by using cognitive behavioral therapy where I help them reframe their negative thoughts, practice positive affirmations, mindfulness, and use a strength based approach. Joining therapy is not easy so I always emphasize the clients courage and will be patient with them and meet them where they are.
